The Giant Dwarf Quest Guide

Greetings! We've just published a new quest guide for The Giant Dwarf, the first quest in the Rise of the Red Axe quest series.

Five hundred years have passed since the rule of King Alvis, saviour of Keldagrim and victim of his own inventions.

He founded the Consortium: the gathering of Mining companies that were to serve the monarchy. But, eventually, the monarchy came to serve the Consortium.

By the time of his death, the monarchy was all but abolished. Now the Kings in Keldagrim are but a distant memory... with only the statue of King Alvis to remind the people of the old days, the dark days.

So begins the Rise of the Red Axe, the new multi-part storyline centered around the dwarves and their capital of Keldagrim. The first quest, The Giant Dwarf, introduces the city and the powerful business Consortium that rules the dwarven realm. Discover weird goings-on, narrowly escape from falling chunks of rock, ride around in minecarts and... make sure you don't bump into the wrong person on the way to the city!

In other news, we're happy to announce that we now have nearly 1600 items in our item database, only a few days after we announced the 1500th item!

Database milestones

Hello all! Both our monster database and item database are constantly growing, and we've reached a new milestone with both databases today! Our monster database had its 300th monster added, and the item database now has more than 1500 items! Thanks to everyone who has been contributing to our databases!

When we last left Larry, the penguins were hatching a diabolical plot to invade the mainland. Larry is certain the invasion has begun and you two must hurry to sabotage whatever the penguins are up to. This new adventure will take you back to the Iceberg where you will sing, interrogate and wear odd hats.

There are many secrets hidden in the depths of the desert. Forgotten tombs of forgotten rulers from a forgotten time, when the world was a very different place...or at least they were forgotten. The spread of human civilization, however, means that many of the hidden corners of the world are being uncovered, often by treasure-hunters with little regard for preserving the sanctity of these ancient places. Recently, one such tomb, near Uzer, was discovered by treasure-hunters. Leela of Al Kharid does care about the sanctity of this particular place, and she wants your help to recover information that is of great importance to her.

New Pest Control Guide

The Pest Control Guide has been re-written and is now up-to-date by Hitman.

Pest Control is a minigame released by Jagex on 18 April 2006. It requires a minimum combat level of 40 to participate. It is a "safe" game, meaning if you die you do not lose any items. On 17 July 2007 it was updated to 3 different boats, each requiring a specific combat level to enter.

Monster database changes

Hello all! We've made some changes to the monster database. First, we've added the level to hits ratio for every monster in the database. The ratio is the monster's hitpoints level divided by its combat level. A higher ratio means that the monster has more hitpoints than other monster in the same level range.

We've also made some changes to the monster page layout. The list of possible drops now hides item types that aren't dropped by the monster, and the fields are hidden altogether for monsters that don't drop any items. We've also added fields for charms and seeds - monsters that drop these items will be updated in the near future. We will also be adding more monsters and update the existing ones, as some of the information in the database may be outdated. Remember, if you want to submit a monster to the database, you can do so in our Database Submissions forum.

New IRC channel for Global RuneScape

Hello all! After several forum members asked us to add a live chat, we've finally registered our own IRC channel. The IRC channel is #globalrs on the SwiftIRC network. If you have an IRC client such as mIRC, you can connect to the network by entering /server irc.swiftirc.net, and /join #globalrs to join the channel.

If you are unfamiliar with IRC or don't have a client, you can easily access the chat by going to chat.global-rs.com. Firefox users can also install the ChatZilla plugin to use IRC directly from the browser.

Remember that all our forum rules also apply to the IRC channel. We hope to see you there, enjoy!

Glorious Memories Quest Guide

The Glorious Memories Quest Guide has now been added to the site.

Over the seas around Rellekka peace reigns, proud nations brought together by masterful diplomacy. People can be harder to please than nations, though, especially where sour recollections are rife. Manni the Reveller is planning a birthday feast for Chieftain Brundt, but the plan is jeopardised by an incident long past that can't be entirely forgotten.

See old friends in new ways as you delve into their past and help them settle their differences. To save the chieftain's birthday celebrations you'll have to find the secrets they don't remember and confront the monster they want to forget.

The Chosen Commander Quest Guide

The Chosen Commander Quest Guide has now been added to the site.

Zanik is missing, her fate unknown. Captain Undak, leader of the Dorgeshuun Guard, believes that a new H.A.M. plot is in progress, and the only person he can call on for help is the human adventurer who has saved the city before.

But there are more forces at play than Captain Undak realises. Goblin prophecy will be fulfilled, the destiny of the Chosen Commander will be revealed, and Dorgesh-Kaan will face its darkest hour.

Slayer Guide Updated

Good afternoon GRS,

I have some rather good news. Last night I spent around 2 hours completely updating the Slayer Guide here at Global-RS. I edited the task listings to reflect those found on Runescape.com. I also added Sumona as a slayer master. There are just a few tweaks needed to be made but the good news it that it is updated.

Capes of Achievement Guide

The Capes of Achievement Guide is finally up and I am more than proud to say this is my first and certainly not my last guide!

On the 18th of October 2006 Capes of Achievement were released onto Runescape. Those lucky, and some would say crazy people, who had devoted the time to train a skill to the incredible level 99 were able to retrieve these capes and show the rest of Runescape their achievement...

Have you tried every single world and every single Magic tree spot and all you see is a tree stump! Yea I hate that too. But recently jagex released Summer's End and the Cursed Magic Tree. Requirement of 82 Woodcutting. Can't find Cursed Magic Logs in Grand Exchange? What, theres no such thing you are crazy.

The Item Database has been re-organized so the items are in the areas more specific to their skill and use. This should be more helpful to users looking for items related to certain skills.
