Changes to Hitpoints

As you may know, RuneScape recently removed the term "hitpoints" altogether and replaced it with "Constitution" and "life points", the latter being a new way to calculate damage dealt and received (10 times "old" hitpoints), and the former being the name of the actual skill. This has not actually change the combat system in RuneScape, since you're just dealing 10 times more damage to enemies which have 10 times more life points.

As a result of this change, we've now updated all the monsters in the monster database to reflect this change, as well as updating the content in several of our guides and items. If you still see the old term being used anywhere on the site (or the old number having been multiplied by 10), please let us know in the forums!

Barrows Guide Rewrite.

For nearly 10 months I have worked on and off this guide and now, finally it is done.

Without the help of these people I would never have managed to get this done. A special thanks goes to Tristipen for her faithful editing and also for the map picture. Also a special thanks to Adidoo, who is not a member of Grs, but she has assisted me greatly with this guide!

A thanks to Hitman and Predator for finding some errors in my guide.

Without the continuous help from this person my guide never would have gotten off the ground. A massive thank you to Death who I am happy to say I see a mentor and as a friend. I am in your debt for all you have done for me. Thank you!

Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf Quest Guide

The Quest Guide for Forgiveness of a Chaos Dwarf has been added to the site.

Missing person reports have been flooding in from Keldagrim East, but the Black Guard seem reluctant to do anything about it. Resources are stretched thin, but Keldagrim West is undoubtedly a greater priority for the Black Guard Supreme Commander. Veldaban refuses to subscribe to this opinion, but his hands are tied; can you help him to reveal the abductors' identities?

Fur 'n' Seek Quest Guide

The Fur 'n' Seek quest guide has now been added to the site

The Odd Old Man is again in need of a hand, but this time it’s not all going to be about bones. Apparently, he has new needs that will require adventurers to seek the hides, pelts and skins of creatures commonly found in the Fremennik Province.

Players will be able to allow the Odd Old Man to take his plan fur-ther. More experienced players will then be able to help him the rest of the way, getting extra rewards and uncovering the truth behind one of RuneScape’s most guarded secrets – just what is in that mumbling bonesack?

Item Database Updates

We've made some changes to the layout of the item pages. Firstly, we've added the 30, 90 and 180 days price change to the Grand Exchange market price information. The page will also tell you how long ago the prices were updated. Some items may not have the price change yet, but remember that you can update the price data yourself by clicking the small update icon in the lower right corner of the market price box.

Secondly, the table containing stats for equippable items has been re-done to make room for Ranged strength bonus, which was previously missing from the database. Ranged strength has also been added to the item comparison feature.

Prayer Calculator

A new Prayer Calculator is now online! The calculator contains all bones, and you can also use the calculator when using bones with the ectofuntus and gilded altar. Remember to let us know about missing items, incorrect info and anything else that can improve the calculator!

Sorceress's Garden Guide Released

First day after being a Site Editor, Illicit Rage with help from Tristipen and Pineapple, completed and added a guide for the Sorceress's Garden Minigame.

Osman, spymaster of Al Kharid, finds skulking and skullduggery thirsty work. Over the years he has managed to quench it with sq'irk juice - a delicious drink made from the fruits of the Sorceress's Garden - but he and the Sorceress are no longer on speaking terms. The craving for sq'irk is near unbearable, so Osman takes a desperate course: asking you for help!

Finding ripe sq'irk for juicing will involve sweet-talking your way into Sorceress's Garden and stealthily creeping past the gardeners to get to the sq'irk trees.

Six new site editors!

Hello all! After opening up for site editor applications a few weeks ago, we had a great response! I received lots of applications, which were then shown to the current site editor team, and after some long discussions, we've chosen six new editors: Predator, Call Me Larry, Aeolus, Illicit_Rage, Tristipen and skewlrulz565. Congratulations to all of you!

Expected downtime
Our servers will be upgraded on Wednesday July 29, 2009 between the hours of 12AM and 6AM CST (06:00 - 12:00GMT). In order to complete the upgrade the server will need to be taken offline. The upgrade should take no longer than 15 to 30 minutes to complete.

The Giant Dwarf Quest Guide

Greetings! We've just published a new quest guide for The Giant Dwarf, the first quest in the Rise of the Red Axe quest series.

Five hundred years have passed since the rule of King Alvis, saviour of Keldagrim and victim of his own inventions.

He founded the Consortium: the gathering of Mining companies that were to serve the monarchy. But, eventually, the monarchy came to serve the Consortium.

By the time of his death, the monarchy was all but abolished. Now the Kings in Keldagrim are but a distant memory... with only the statue of King Alvis to remind the people of the old days, the dark days.

So begins the Rise of the Red Axe, the new multi-part storyline centered around the dwarves and their capital of Keldagrim. The first quest, The Giant Dwarf, introduces the city and the powerful business Consortium that rules the dwarven realm. Discover weird goings-on, narrowly escape from falling chunks of rock, ride around in minecarts and... make sure you don't bump into the wrong person on the way to the city!

In other news, we're happy to announce that we now have nearly 1600 items in our item database, only a few days after we announced the 1500th item!

There are many secrets hidden in the depths of the desert. Forgotten tombs of forgotten rulers from a forgotten time, when the world was a very different place...or at least they were forgotten. The spread of human civilization, however, means that many of the hidden corners of the world are being uncovered, often by treasure-hunters with little regard for preserving the sanctity of these ancient places. Recently, one such tomb, near Uzer, was discovered by treasure-hunters. Leela of Al Kharid does care about the sanctity of this particular place, and she wants your help to recover information that is of great importance to her.
