Levels needed and recommended

It is recommended to have level 60+ Ranged to benefit decently from this. In addition, there are other level or quest requirements for the different areas:

Taverley dungeon
You need the following to use the Taverley Dungeon spot:
  • 37+ Magic (For teleporting and to cast curse)
  • 26+ Agility (To get over the crumbling wall)

Heroes' guild
You need the following to use the Heroes' Guild spot:

Watchtower
You need the following to use the Watchtower spot:
  • Watchtower Quest completion
  • 25+ Agility (For completing the quest)
  • 14+ Herblore (For completing the quest)
  • 15+ Thieving (For completing the quest)
  • 40+ Mining (For completing the quest)
  • 58+ Magic (To use the watchtower teleport, you can walk, this is only optional. Upon completion of the Ardougne Diaries Hard, you can change your teleport to inside Yanille)

Equipment

60-69 Ranged
White The boots don't matter that much, you can wear nothing, preferred to have decent boots. Boots of lightness are great also.
Green Hats are whatever you prefer. Helm of neitiznot provides the best range boost.
Red I use iron because they are the easiest to make, any kind is fine. I wouldn't use rune or adamant because they will get stolen 99% of the time. Also, the amount is varied also, but my suggestion is 300 just in case some get stolen or you have a bad day with ranging.
Purple Glory or Fury, nothing less. Fury isn't needed though, but it's better. Glory works fine.

70+ Ranging
Cyan Mage bow is the minimum, you can bring a Karil's crossbow (not recommended) or a crystal bow if you do the Roving Elves quest (recommended if quest is done) but I think mage bow works fine.
Yellow Can be replaced by Karils, but not recommended. Black Dragon hide is very good.

Inventory for dragon killing

Taverley Dungeon Inventory

Thats what you need. Exactly just like that. Runes are for cursing and teleporting to fally. The key is the dusty key. The lobsters are there just in case you get damaged.

Heroes Guild Inventory

The runes are for cursing. The food is for just in case you get damaged.

Watchtower Inventory

The dueling ring is for teleporting to the Castle Wars bank. The food is for just in case you get damaged.

Getting there

Taverley dungeon

Just go from Falador West Bank, go over crumbling wall, go down ladder where you see the dungeon icon () on the map.

The cyan is where you walk. That's to get to the Blue Dragons Area.

Heroes' Guild

Just walk from Fally West Bank to Heroes guild, then go downstairs into the dungeon. Then, go to the designated area. The strategy on killing will be explained later in the guide.

Watchtower Area

Just walk from Yanille Bank to the fence, the ogre guards will let you in. Then go to the cave area, and click on "talk to enclave guard" and select "I want to go in there." and you will sneak by him and get into the cave.

Killing strategies

All you have to do is range them. They will get stuck and you will not get hit and they will stand there and not move. This may seem super easy but there is some complications to this. These places are wildly popular, but if you follow this guide, you will get the dragons almost everytime.

Taverley dungeon

Stand in the blue spot, and you will cast curse as soon as that dragon respawns. While the curse is in the air, right click (or left click if you are level 111+ combat) and click attack. Then just sit back and watch the dragon get owned.

Heroes' Guild

The Heroes' guild is only for people who have completed the Heroes' quest. This place has only one dragon, but there is virtually no danger in this place, making is very good for people who are afraid of the danger factor when it comes to dragons. And let's face it... you only can kill one dragon at a time, so having more than one dragon isn't imperative by any means. The only real issue is the extremely long walk from bank to dragon spot, but I consider this to be a decent spot. Great for beginning dragslayers, and a great spot if you don't want to deal with the dangers of dragonslaying.

Watchtower Area

To range dragons in this spot you need to complete the Watchtower quest. This though, is probably the best spot out there for ranging drags. There is 5 spots to range drags, so the action is spread out a lot. And also, not a lot of people have completed the quest, so the action is even more spread out because not as many people have done it. Once you become really good at dragonslaying (the technique, not your level) I suggest you go here and range drags. Its a great spot for those who have completed the quest. There are five areas, I shall present them to you with the places you can range them without worry or care.

The benefits

The benefits are:

Serious cash, the dragons drop a Blue Dragon Hide and Dragon Bone each time. That's 4k-4.5k minimum per dragon! Also, the dragons drop a lot of nice drops, such as half keys, clue scrolls, dragon stuff (super rare).
  • 100 Dragons = 400 – 500k
  • 500 Dragons = 2 mill – 2.5 mill
  • 1k Dragons = 4 mill – 5 mill
Awesome experience, these guys are nearly identical to the Fire Giants in XP. You'll gain a lot of levels here, and it'll be very fast even though you're stopping every 10 dragons.

FAQ

What level are the Blue Dragons?
They are level 111.

Why do you use Curse instead of a Strike spell?
Mainly because curse is faster than those, so during competition you'll have the edge. Plus, it'll weaken the drag's defence and you'll kill the dragon faster, double effective.

Are there other spots to range blue dragons?
Now that I covered all three areas, no. All three of the areas covered here are the only places to kill blue dragons.

Can you use magic or halberd effectively?
You can, maging is effective but expensive, and hallying isn't good for competing against mages/rangers unless you use the mage spell technique.

Did you make that map ALL by yourself?
Yes, it was my first attempt at mapping, so don't make too much fun of me.

What place do you consider to be the best?
Every place has its pro's and con's. Personally I prefer the Taverley dungeon, but the Watchtower place is just as good and/or better. I just have used the Taverley dungeon for such a long period of time. And the Heroes' guild is great for beginners or low defence rangers.
