The mace has the same speed of an axe and has about the same power. Maces, however, have a bonus to prayer and can be decent in some situations. Maces have a "controlled" attack style. Its special attack, "Shatter", is much more powerful than normally, but also has a reduced accuracy. You need to complete the Heroes quest to use this item.
